“Lord of the Rings” series announces full title

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The “Lord of the Rings” series on Amazon has launched the full title in a new video.

In the video, liquid metal is seen filling grooves in a piece of wood with a woman’s narration saying, “Three rings for the Elven kings under the heavens. Seven for the dwarf kings in their stone halls. Nine for mortal men, destined to die. One for the lord of darkness on his dark throne in the land of Mordor where the shadows reside,” the narrative reads.

The full title was later revealed, “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”. It was previously confirmed that the show would be about the Second Age, when the Rings of Power were forged by Sauron. The title now suggests that the ring will be a major part of the series.

“This is a title that we imagine could live together on the spine of another JRR Tolkien classic,” said JD Payne and Patrick McKay as showrunners, reported by Variety, Thursday.

“The Ring of Power brings together all the major stories of the Second Age of Middle-earth: the forging of the ring, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic saga of Númenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men,” he continued.

“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” will tell the story of a time of relative peace. The series follows a series of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared return of evil to Middle-earth.

From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the fairy capital of Lindon, to the wondrous island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live long after.

This highly anticipated epic fantasy series will air on September 2, 2022 with new episodes every week.
